Second to Last Blogger

This week we were introduced to app inventor. This is wonderful since i don't have to keep working and python, and the best thing is there is no python final. The reason I liked app inventor is because its really fun and educational. This is good since we have to create and app for our final. I have high hopes for this program.

This week I started to work on lab 10a. The lecture about lab 10a covered dictionaries,tuples, and debugging. The lab required us to use string manipulation to parse a string object, to use a Dictionary to store the parsed string as value pairs and finally to use tuples to return multiple values from function. I am still not finished with it since I am having problems with todo 3. I still haven't finished this lab so  should really get back to work on it,because if I don't finish I will never get to work on the app inventor, which I should really need to work on since this is the final project. 

Blog Post 4/22/12

This week I learned about matrices and how to read from and write to files. This week I solely worked on lab 9a. This lab taught me that looking at pre-lab is actually helpful. All this time I tried to read the pre-lab as fast as I can not really taking any information. As each un-productive day went, I finally looked at the pre-lab for reference. This action eventually lead me to the completion of the lab. I was so happy I finished this lab, I had taken me about 3 class dates to complete

This week I worked on lab8a this introduced us to strings and lists. At the beginning I had a hard time understanding  these concepts, but after a while I kinda got the hang of it. This lab required us to use a function that created a list. In this lab I had trouble adding something to a list, I later solved this problem by using append. Another problem I had was with the output, it will print it out too many times. I am not really sure how I fixed it. This lab really provided me with a challenge.

Since this week we took the Eoc's this week , i was only able to attend class on Thursday. Since i really didn't attend class for more than 1hour and 30 min i don't really have that much to talk about.
On Thursday I work on lab 7a, since I din't finish it I was planning to working on it at home. I also took a look at lab 8a but really had no idea what to do. And thats all i did for this week

This week we got new labs, lab7a, lab7b and lab 7c, this labs taught us about strings. Lab 7a specifically taught is how to use basic string functions to manipulate strings , and to shows how to convert characters from chr to ord. Lab 7b further helped us understand objects in the string class plus giving us a better understanding on strings in general. Lab 7c did the same plus showed us more on strings.
